In the 1990s I came to Prague with the aim of discovering more about my family’s roots as well as to complete a Masters in film directing at FAMU – a film school I’d read about in textbooks describing the Czech New Wave. I had the privilege of studying under some of those same directors, some of whom still teach there today. Public radio, of course, is different from film or commercial TV, but I have enjoyed it immensely. Radio work also took me to Toronto, Canada and I have also continued to work on small independent projects, including a film about New York City.
