Czech immigrants began settling on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in the late 19th century and the area still bears traces of the former community, including the soon-to-be-reopened Bohemian National Hall, the Jan Hus Church and New York Sokol. In this special series of reports, we'll be reporting on those and other Czech institutions in the Big Apple, as well as meeting an extremely broad range of Czechs living in the city. Other subjects will include the teaching of the Czech language in NYC and the only store in the US selling classic Czech 20th century furniture.
Ian Willoughby presents this special Radio Prague series from New York.
